Armistice Day Wreath Laying.

Liverpool Masonic Hall held the annual Armistice Day Wreath Laying service, on 11th November.    This year not only marks the Centenary of the Battle of the Somme, but also marked 90 years since the Liverpool Masonic Hall war memorial was commissioned.   It was a well attended service, with members bringing their wives to share in this sombre time of remembrance of those Brethren who gave their lives for their country in times of war.   Many of the Masons who attended being ex servicemen and wore the regimental ties, medals and badges.
The service was conducted by Rev Wilfred Alexander Past Provincial Grand Chaplin and the Words of Affirmation were given by W.Bro. Jimmy Kontzle.  At Eleven O’clock, a two minute silence was observed.  This was followed by the wreath laying ceremony.   Seven wreaths were laid in total.  The Mark wreath was laid by WBro. Mike Winterbottom, the PGM’s Special Representative for the Liverpool area.

After the service light refreshments were served for those who had attended.
